Forthcoming Events 2025/26

The RHS has just announced the following information about its forthcoming shows schedule. Wentworth in South Yorkshire replaces Tatton Park on 16-20 July. RHS Urban show has been dropped for 2025 after debuting in Manchester in 2024. Wentworth nursery marquee allocation has been delayed, but growers have been told they are due to be given confirmations this week.

Further RHS Chelsea Flower Show announcements are due on 7January and late January, and then Hampton and Wentworth in mid to late February. A Nigel Dunnett garden is one of the expected Chelsea announcements.

RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival will become a biennial event in two years with a new show taking place in 2026 at Badminton Estate, in Gloucestershire, returning to Hampton Court in 2027. The RHS Shows will remain at Hampton Court Palace for 2025. A 2026 RHS Show will take place at Sandringham. Tatton is slated to return in 2027.

The British Cactus and Succulent Society, Birmingham and District Branch

Currently, the local Birmingham branch holds monthly meetings to discuss topics and keep in touch socially on the third Tuesday of every month (except December) at 7:00 pm for a 7.30 pm
start. £3, which includes tea and biscuits.

The location is a bit tricky. Assuming you are driving north up Edgbaston Park Rd. you need to go past the signed main entrance to Winterbourne and take the next right. It is a gated, narrow gravel road that leads to the rear parking for Winterbourne staff. If you see lots of glasshouses, you are in the right place. Meetings are held in the first building on the right after the first parking area.

There is a £3.00 charge to attend, which includes free tea and biscuits. As of 12th of December 2024, the list of some national events has yet to be finalized and will be available on the Cactus Society Website when available.

Nationally, the cactus society hosts fortnightly online meetings for members, who receive a list of events and can join each meeting for free.
