Helleborus niger Ashwood Strain The Christmas Rose. A very popular and beautiful evergreen plant, not easy to establish in the garden. This selection has well formed, cup-shaped rounded flowers of purest white and strong stems. Grows best in semi-shade, planted in a deeply cultivated, moist but fairly well-drained stony soil, with added humus. Try it against a wall or close to an evergreen shrub. 15-20cm (6-8ins).
